The Droitwich Spa Hospital is my Worcestershire clinic, serving patients in Droitwich, Worcester and across the wider county who would prefer not to travel into Birmingham. I run outpatient clinics here on Monday mornings.
About The Droitwich Spa Hospital — part of Circle Health Group, the hospital has been delivering private healthcare to the local community for nearly forty years, having opened in 1988. It sits in the centre of the historic spa town, with free on-site parking and local shops within walking distance. It has 46 single en-suite rooms, operating theatres, a JAG-accredited endoscopy suite and a resident medical officer available around the clock. Its on-site imaging centre offers MRI, CT, digital X-ray and ultrasound so that patients can have scans and results quickly and locally.
What I treat at Droitwich — blood in the urine; urinary symptoms and prostate concerns, including raised PSA; recurrent urinary tract infections; second opinions and inguinoscrotal surgery (problems with the foreskin or testicular problems).
A connected stone service — for Worcestershire patients, Droitwich works as the front door to my wider stone practice. I can assess and investigate locally, then carry out the right procedure at the most appropriate site — flexible ureteroscopy and laser treatment, or, for larger stones needing keyhole surgery and on-site intensive care, percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Patients keep the same consultant throughout, with the convenience of being seen close to home for everything that does not require the Birmingham theatres.
Fast access and rapid imaging — with MRI, CT and ultrasound on site, diagnosis is not delayed by separate scan appointments. New patients can usually be seen within seven days.
