Urology at The Spire Parkway Hospital, Solihull
Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull serves as my primary clinical hub for patients across Solihull, Coventry, Warwickshire, and the eastern suburbs of Birmingham who require specialised, rapid-access urological assessment and state-of-the-art kidney stone management.
About Spire Parkway Hospital
Located on Damson Parkway in Solihull, Spire Parkway is a premier private hospital offering comprehensive outpatient clinics, advanced on-site diagnostics, and fully equipped operating theatres. Supported by an experienced, dedicated urology nursing team and cutting-edge imaging technology—including high-resolution CT and ultrasound—the hospital provides an efficient, streamlined pathway from initial consultation to definitive diagnosis and treatment.
Comprehensive, Tailored Kidney Stone Treatments
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, my practice at Spire Parkway is built on matching the precise treatment to the specific characteristics of your stone—its size, density, and exact anatomical position.
We offer a complete suite of minimally invasive and non-invasive interventions:
Mini-PCNL (Miniaturised Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy): An advanced keyhole surgery technique utilised for larger or harder kidney stones. By accessing the stone through a very small hole (4-6 mm) in the back, it offers significantly less bleeding, reduced post-operative pain, and a faster recovery compared to traditional standard keyhole procedures.
Laser Lithotripsy (Flexible Ureteroscopy): A completely internal, incision-free procedure. A retrograde flexible scope is passed through the natural urinary tract, utilising high-precision lasers to fragment or "dust" stones into passable particles. This is the preferred method for most ureteric and mid-sized renal stones.
Mobile ESWL (Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy): A highly effective, completely non-invasive option delivered via a specialised visiting mobile unit. Focused sound waves break the stone into tiny fragments that pass naturally in the urine. It typically requires no anaesthetic, is performed entirely as a day case, and serves as an excellent first-line choice for suitable stone profiles.
Urology Conditions Treated at Solihull
In addition to specialised endourology, I provide rapid assessment and evidence-based management for a wide range of general urological concerns:
Blood in the Urine (Haematuria): Rapid-access diagnostic pathways to ruling out underlying pathology.
Prostate Concerns & BPH: Evaluation of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and modern benign prostate enlargement management.
Recurrent UTIs: Detailed investigation into chronic or recurring urinary infections.
Expert Second Opinions: Comprehensive reviews of complex cases, imaging interpretations, or prior treatment plans.
